The pandemic has exposed many long standing, systemic inequalities resulting in global calls for action on health and equity. World-wide health disparities have escalated. Strong global evidence shows that health outcomes and social determinants of health (SDH) are interdependent. Human rights and the sustainable development goals (SDG) are key. What is the connection between health, equity, and human rights? What are SDHs? How do they impact our health? What are SDGs? What can we do to make a positive impact on health equity? Join us to learn more about the pandemic’s call for action on health and equity.

Sherry Ruff, MPH is a public health/education professional with expertise in: health education, health promotion, disease prevention, global/community health and Spanish. Specialization: multicultural/multilingual and vulnerable populations. Solid knowledge of social determinants health, sustainable development goals, health equity, health literacy, inter-sectoral collaboration, community organizing. She also developed health education/prevention programs in collaboration with diverse stakeholders statewide/nationally. Extensive experience working in diverse cultural contexts with multicultural/multilingual and vulnerable populations.
