What do John Williams, Max Steiner, Maurice Jarre, Elmer Bernstein, Jerry Goldsmith, Dimitri Tiomkin, John Barry, James Horner, Alfred Newman, Andre Previn, and Vangelis all have in common? They have written memorable music for films- from Titanic to Exodus, from Star Wars to Gone with the Wind and from On the Waterfront to the Magnificent 7 and Mission Impossible. We will examine the lives and notable contributions of these and other great composers whose music makes these films even more memorable.
