This course is a study of the important pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. We will examine its impact on the development of Romanesque and Gothic architecture and in decorate style if both France and Spain from the 11th to the 13th centuries.

INSTRUCTOR:  James Powers is Professor Emeritus of History at Holy Cross College. He has authored two books and dozens of articles on Spanish history. Recently, he lectured on ocean liners on the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Baltic seas. He has led a tour from France to Santiago. 

NO REQUIRED BOOKS: Copies of maps will be provided.
