The most magnificent literature of western civilization includes The Old Testament, originally derived from the Hebrew Bible. The timeless, ethical foundation of western culture, the Bible inspires with lyrical language, dramatic narratives, and unforgettable characters. In this reading and discussion course we will consider the enduring prose and poetry of a true work of literary art, focusing on the Bible’s universal wisdom rather than the theology of any one religion.

Harvey Fenigsohn has taught at the college and secondary level, including 20 years at the Bancroft School, and was awarded a Fulbright Teacher Exchange Grant.  He has published in local and national publications and has taught numerous WISE courses.
