Contemporary music is dominated by male performers, and great female music writers and performers are often overlooked.  This course will present great songs written and recorded by some of the best contemporary female artists of today – some working as solo artists and some as lead singers of top bands.  Included will be music performed by Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick, Judy Garland, Julie Andrews, Joni Mitchell, Natalie Merchant, Natalie Maines, Sarah McLachlan, Dusty Springfield, Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, Carly Simon, Karen Carpenter, Carole King, and others.

GROUP LEADERJoseph Corn is a graduate of Penn State University and spent most of his professional career working as a communications and radar engineer.  He also taught in the NYC school system, Springfield Technical Community College, and Penn State, and worked as a technical instructor for Moore Products Co.  Since joining WISE in 2010, Mr. Corn has presented both music and technical courses.  He is the current President of WISE.
