The Third Chapter of life is both exciting and challenging.  What a joy to enhance each day by experiencing it in the gentle glow of happiness.  In this course we will explore concepts ranging from ancient Buddhist philosophy to cutting edge science and psychology, and apply the ideas from the Blue Zones and Ecopsychology to our own lives.  We will discover that when East meets West we have a fine model for living a deeper, richer, happier life.  We will review the engaging writings of Sylvia Boorstein, psychotherapist and senior teacher at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre.

GROUP LEADER:  Ellen Duzak is a retired professor of Psychology from Becker College.  Her interest in The Art of Happiness is both personal and professional.  She has taught courses and read deeply on the subject and agrees with the Dalai Lama that “one of the mind’s most marvelous qualities is that it can be transformed.”
