This course will concentrate on voice classifications in opera and be followed by an introduction to Charles Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette before the opera is transmitted live in HD from the Metropolitan Opera stage to select movie theaters on January 21, 2017.

GROUP LEADER:  Erila Reitshamer, born and educated in Germany, is a life-long opera lover and is a noted lecturer in the greater Boston area.  She was active in the formation of Boston Lyric Opera Co. more than 35 years ago. She served as VP of the Boston Wagner Society.  For many years she led opera tours to Europe. She teaches opera appreciation for LLARC at Regis College and Newton Lifelong Learning.
