The course will study the important pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain and its impact on the development of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, and on the decorative style in both France and Spain from the 11th to the 13th centuries.

GROUP LEADER:  James F. Powers is Professor Emeritus of History at Holy Cross College, the author of two books and dozens of articles on Spanish history, and a lecturer on ocean liners on the Atlantic, and the Mediterranean and Baltic seas.  He designed and led a tour from France to Santiago.
